Creature Creature

Brighton-based alt-rock/alt-punk band CREATURE CREATURE, dubbed “the new flagbearers of rock” (The Brighton Magazine), fuse rapid-fire guitar hooks, layered keys, and intelligent songwriting into a high-energy, distinctive sound... the band is knows to make waves with their unique style and energetic live performance.

Originally formed in 2016 as folk-punk outfit 40 Shillings on the Drum, they quickly gained traction after winning Brighton’s Busk Stop competition with their debut gig. After local shows and festivals, a newly solidified lineup led them to Beautiful Days Festival in 2018, sharing stages with big names such as Manic Street Preachers and The Hives. There, they connected with Tom Gleeson, who later produced and mixed their debut album Two Finger Tantrum (2019).

Marking a shift away from their folk-punk roots, the band rebranded as Creature Creature in 2020 to reflect a more modern rock sound. Momentum stalled with COVID, bringing cancelled shows and a disrupted album release that landed modestly in a changed industry.

Rather than fade, the band regrouped — using the setback to evolve, rebuild, and sharpen their direction. Now, with a new EP on the way, they’re gearing up for a powerful return.

Praised for their depth and replay value by critics like Andy Joice, Creature Creature combine musical complexity with a lived-in story. Their live shows match that intensity — whether playing to 60 or 6000, they deliver raw, immersive performances built on authenticity and connection.
