While Leprous have evolved over the past decade and a half into one of the genre’s most distinctive acts, Solberg’s solo career offers a more intimate yet equally ambitious outlet, one that leans heavily into cinematic scope, orchestral textures, and deeply personal storytelling. His 2023 debut 16 revealed a stripped-back, introspective side, but its follow-up, Vox Occulta, expands that vision into something far more expansive, blending heaviness and symphonic grandeur through a collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

A lifelong admirer of classical music and film scores, Solberg uses Vox Occulta to explore the darker and more complex corners of his psyche, presenting a raw and unfiltered portrait of himself in 2026. The album balances towering, cinematic arrangements with moments of fragility and reflection, reinforcing his ambition to carve out a unique identity as one of progressive music’s most evocative and emotionally resonant voices. It also marks a clear artistic evolution - where 16 was exploratory and intimate, Vox Occulta is deliberate, expansive, and thematically cohesive.

Released on April 24, 2026, the album ushers in a new chapter for Solberg’s solo career, one defined not just by creative ambition but by scale.

For the first time, he will take his solo material on the road with a full band, embarking on a major European headline tour across the UK and mainland Europe in September and October 2026. Alongside these dates, Solberg is set to appear at key festivals across the summer, including the Midsummer Prog Festival, Radar Festival, and Bloodstock Open Air, bringing his cinematic sound to some of the most prominent stages in progressive and metal music.

With Vox Occulta, Solberg not only strengthens his position outside of Leprous but also lays the groundwork for a lasting dual legacy, one rooted in collaboration and evolution with his band, and another driven by fearless self-expression under his own name.
