Formed in 1998, Death Metal supergroup Bloodbath was born out of a shared admiration for quality death metal in the old style and they have devoted themselves to resurrecting the increasingly forgotten art of pure death metal.
Quickly developing into a fully realised band, with a series of releases and evolving line-ups, Bloodbath was established as a consistent presence within the genre. Across multiple albums and vocalists, the band expanded beyond its original scope while maintaining a clear focus on traditional death metal foundations.
Stepping up their live activity in light of the release of Grand Morbid Funeral, Bloodbath played a multitude of major festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, including Hellfest, Wacken, Party San Open Air, and Maryland Deathfest. 2026 is no different with a Latin American Tour scheduled for September and many festivals throughout the year.
Bloodbath continues to push the boundaries of extreme metal, able to evolve while honoring the legacy of the genre’s pioneers. Despite the sporadic nature of their output, Bloodbath’s enduring influence and unwavering passion ensure that each chapter of their career leaves a lasting impact on the death metal landscape.
With the band’s members having active careers in other prominent projects, it has led to intermittent gaps between releases resulting in each Bloodbath album, tour or festival appearance being highly anticipated. The supergroup’s ongoing commitment to quality and authenticity makes them a must-see act for any death metal enthusiast.
Within NMC Live, Bloodbath maintain a focused live presence, centred on delivering their uncompromising take on old school death metal. Their live activity is defined not by frequency, but by impact, with each appearance reinforcing their standing within the genre.
